Cooperation with Stellavox
All Thales amplifiers are developed and manufactured in close collaboration with Stellavox SA in Mendrisio (Switzerland). The company was founded in 1955 and reactivated the production in 2020 under Stephan Schertler. Stellavox is worldwide known for tape machines and excellent audio in professional environment.

Zero NFB
Negative feedback (NFB) has a significant influence on the reproduction of transients in the music signal. In order to offer the listener a live experience, our electronics work without any negative feedback. Such an approach usually leads to distortion, instability and temperature deviation. We are meeting this challenge with a unique and completely new circuit architecture, developed by Stephan Schertler at Stellavox.

Inductive RIAA
In combination with the above zero NFB concept, RIAA filters with capacitors would be just un-acceptable to us. Attenuating the high frequencies by burning them down was no option as well, as by such technology a lot of headroom (40dB @ 20kHz) is lost. Amplifying high frequency and attenuating them again causes distortion and noise. Therefore, we’ve decided for RIAA equaliza-tion with ironless inductors in the gain current. The shielded housing of the cupper-coils is visi-ble on top of the Thales Magnifier. Such design offers the headroom- and noise-quality of an NFB amplifier, but without any time-distortion.

Thales Cable
The Thales cables consist of several very thin, insulated copper wires that are twisted in pairs and then sjed. This structure significantly reduces the impact of the spin reverb effect, and the transmission is neutral and broadband. All Thales cables are manufactured and configured by hand in our own studio.
